David Snyder learned about high altitude ballooning from Dr James Woodyard from Wayne State University, as an alternative for high altitude solar cell calibration.  From 2004 to 2012 he led the BalloonSat Explorers Post 632 at NASA Glenn Research Center, flying a couple missions a year with high school students.  He retired from NASA but still hopes to participate in one or two flight missions each year.  He has made lots of mistakes, hopefully learning from them.
